Phoenix, Angel and Alicia enjoyed their layover ranch where they spent a few days before continuing back east.  They really enjoyed the nice yummy grass.

Huey was adopted on Sunday. His new dad is so excited to have Huey as a new member of the family.

Huey is such a big boy he made this big stock trailer look tiny. He was a good boy and loaded right up.  They were on the road in no time.

Sunday morning was a very exciting morning. There was a baby on the ground. Our staff was super excited to see this cute little guy, we would like you to meet this year’s first baby born at the shelter, his name is Remington.

Prairie is the proud mother of this guy, she is in adoption pending as well as Remington. Their new family was thrilled to hear the good news.

Next another one of the Mustang mare’s had a baby at 11:30 in the morning.  Our staff was very pleased and got to quietly watch from afar.

Ruby is a good mommy, and she is very pleased with her new baby.

Some more people came and got some manure. We are so happy to see the pile shrinking.

Alicia was adopted and made it safely to her new home.  We are so excited that she has a wonderful home.

Monday we had this guy surrendered to our Last Act of Kindness program, his name is Lysander.

He has chronic navicular, and possibly foundered.  His hooves are causing him a lot of chronic, untreatable pain, and his owners knew it was time to say “Goodbye.”

Our Benefit Concert is this Saturday March 14, 2015 in Penn Valley CA, we hope you attend it will be a great time and half of the proceeds go to Horse Plus to help the 41 Grass Valley horses.  For more information and to buy tickets, click here.
